BSNL To Increase Broadband Speed
State owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) said it will increase the speed of broadband internet to a minimum of 2 Mbps from the current speed of existing 512 Kbps. The increase in internet speed will be applicable to both new and old landline subcribers, it said. After exhausting of the free quota, the speed will revert to 512 Kbps like earlier before. All upgraded plans will come into effect from October 1 2015, BSNL CMD, Anupam Srivastava said at an official.
