Eating the right kind of food keeps you mentally and physically fit. Cook yourself rather than eating ready meals. It keeps your mind engaged as you concentrate to make the recipe your best. You can prepare the kind of food that stimulates your taste buds as well as of other family members.
Not in the mood to cook? Too depressed? In such case opt for the ready meals that contain less oil and less of sugar.
To boost up your senses you often opt for tea or coffee. Sometimes even that would not solve your problem. Once caffeine is out of system you get a letdown. Fatigue makes you reach for another cup and so on. After a while you again feel the same: feel angry, irritable, intolerant, bored, uneasy, and impatient. In such a situation there are certain foods that help boost up your mood.
Eat Chocolates: Yes. Next time when you are off mood eat one dark chocolate. According to research chocolates are powerful natural anti-depressants. Chocolates contain phenols; these are anti-oxidants that protect the heart. But don’t overeat them,take moderately.
Oatmeal: If you feel from fatigue and restlessness, oatmeal can change your mood. You get an amino acid called tryptophan which gives you enough strength to face any challenge. Within half an hour you will feel relaxed. Apart from this it has the ability to reduce LDL cholesterol levels and protect your heart.
Cheese: High protein diet like cheese can also reduce your symptoms of uneasiness, tiredness etc. Certain people like artists, writers should keep a watch on their blood sugar levels that are often low. They should take proper diet to enhance the working power of brain. Deficiency of zinc in the body may lead to dementia. To maintain zinc levels you should include cereals, sprouts, fruits, almonds and walnuts in your diet.
If you take foods that have carbohydrates at night, the hormones produced by them give relaxation to brain. You can get good sleep by drinking warm milk. If you feel weak, tired and lazy as soon as you wake up in the morning, drink a glass of milk or fruit juice along with your breakfast.
B-Vitamins: Those who often suffer from anxiety should include foods that have B vitamin or take B vitamin supplements after consulting your physician. Consume foods that contain protein such as cheese, chicken, fish etc. The fluids that are produced by these foods give relaxation to mind and body.
Fish or flax seeds: For those who often suffer from anxiety and depression should take foods that contain protein and omega-3 fatty acids say nutrition experts. Omega-3 fatty acids help ease depressive symptoms. Hemp seeds, avocado, fresh fruits are good for the brain.
Fruits and vegetables: If your meal does not include animal protein, then add high vitamin C food such as citrus fruits, melons, berries, dark green leafy vegetables, different colours of bell peppers tomatoes etc. to your meal.
