Rohit Shetty’s Yet Another Century

Rohit Shetty’s Singham Returns has struck gold at the box office and has marched past the Rs.100 crore-mark. It seems Shetty, known for giving hits like Chennai Express, theGolmaal series and Singham, is set to add one more blockbuster to his list of record-breaking movies. Starring Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor, the movie released on Independence Day and has performed well overseas too. The first weekend overseas collection was $2.4 million (approximately Rs.14.5 crore), read a statement.The film is co-produced by Ajay Devgn Films, Rohit Shetty Productions and Reliance Entertainment.



Chhammak Chhalo At Madam Tussauds


Kareena Kapoor’s wax statue at Madam Tussauds has undergone a style change with the actress donating her famous Chammak Chalo red sari from Ra.One to it. The statue was earlier styled in the black tank top and harem pants that Kareena wore in mauja hi mauja song from Jab We Met. The actress, 33, who was in the city to celebrate the 44th birthday of actor-husband Saif Ali Khan, visited Madam Tussauds to get her photos clicked with the newly-styled replica. The statue will be kept in the attraction’s Bollywood area until late summer before returning to Madame Tussauds Blackpool. The figure took four months and 150,000 pounds to complete.



Shamitabh Wrapped UP


Millenium superstar Amitabh Bachchan has finished shooting for R. Balakrishnan’s directorial Shamitabh and is ready to take up the next project. “Shamitabh hits the last day for me … after a hard day on location several miles away from the city, they cheer for me as I leave … to continue the next work and schedule on hand,” he posted on his blog srbachchan.tumblr.com. The movie, also starring Dhanush marks the Bollywood debut of southern superstar actor Kamal Haasan’s daughter Akshara. The film is set to hit the screens early next year in February.



Shasha On A Roll


As Shahid kapoor is gearing up for the release of Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider and has given nod to Raj and Krishna DK’s Farji, Vikas Bahl’s Shandaar and Abhishek Chaubey’s as yet-untitled next. And that’s not all. A leading tabloid has now reported that the actor will be stepping into Ram Charan’s shoes in the Hindi remake of SS Rajamouli’s 2009 Telugu hit Magadheera. Co-starring Kajal Aggarwal, the historical romance was the story of bike stuntman who recalls his previous life as a warrior in love with a princess. According to the sources, Sajid Nadiadwala has bought the rights of the film and Shahid has liked the concept.
