Manurbhava

Updated: September 13, 2014 2:59 pm

Man is a weaver who weaves his life ceaselessly with the threads of his actions. The nobler are his deeds, the more glorious is the life-fabric. As the weaver weaves clothes in brightness of light to avoid joint and twist in the woven material; man likewise should perform all actions with the lamp of knowledge. The verse says that our wise ancestors have devised pathways for a smooth and harmonious life by sacred acts and divine wisdom which we should sincerely follow with love, devotion and determination.

‘Manurbhava’—may you first strive to become man. This is possible only when man sets the reins of his mind tight and controls the horses of the sense organs. He should be resolute to guard and enrich the splendour of human life by weaving threads of divine knowledge free from defect. All who bear the shape and form of a human being do not, in true sense, possess the virtues of man. The inherent nature of man is to love and to serve. Man is degraded when he embraces sectarian views and starts thinking and doing in a spirit of envy, jealousy and hatred. ‘Janaya daivyanim Janam’-”Ye men, you are worthy to elevate yourself to divinity which other beings have no chance to. Rise to the status of an enlightened one and establish proXimity With the Lord of bliss”.
