Is It Really An Incredible India?

Updated: July 21, 2012 3:53 pm

India is under attack not only from the terrorists, but also from some Indian Muslims, who are out to destroy this country. Government of India, to say the least, is a party to this diabolical scheming by its inaction. Of course the Constitution guarantees certain freedoms to every citizen but it does not permit any group of people to take advantage of it to destroy the country.

The 26/11 terror mastermind Syed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal’s extradition from Saudi Arabia and during his interrogation he revealed that he had recruited 50 persons during his nearly two-year stay in Saudi Arabia and was also instrumental in Hawala funding through his contacts in Riyadh and Dubai to the Lashkar-e-Taiba’s sleeper cells in Kerala and Maharashtra.

The recruits were chosen from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and were inducted into the Lashkar. He trained 250 recruits in Lashkar training camps in PoK. Out of these eight Indian Muslims were trained for the 26/11 type attack in India in 2011. As a result of the red corner notice, issued by Interpol, another India Muslim terrorist a Bihar engineer Fasih Mehmood, accused of carrying out terror strikes in India and recruiting youths for terror-related activities, was detained in Saudi Arabia. Ostensibly, all this has happened due to American pressure.

Unfortunately, after the repeal of TADA (Terrorist and Anti Disruptionist Act), the Government of India has failed to frame any law to deal with the terror menace. The Union Home Minister blames Pakistan, and its ISI for the major terrorist attacks on India and, on the other hand, the so-called separatists who are really terrorists’ sustainers and front men are invited by Pakistan High Commissioner for a meeting in July 2012. It was not a social meeting but was obviously a meeting to give them instructions to spread terrorism in India. Indeed, Law of Sedition under Section 124 A has never been applied to terrorists’ front men masquerading as separatists.

Time New Delhi calls Islamabad’s bluff!

Pakistan once again managed to befool New Delhi and the Indian media through its diversionary tactics. They cleverly diverted the attention from the unfolding big Abu Jundal story, where complicity of Pakistan’s ISI involvement in the 26/11 operations was being established. Initially they announced the Presidential pardon on 26 June 2012 for Sarabjeet Singh, putting the government and the media in a tizzy. Subsequently late at night they changed the name to Surjeet Singh adding huge heart burns and confusion.

The result was that the Indian television channels fell into an emotional trap and instead of focusing on the big unfolding story of huge national interest concerning Abu Jundal digressed to discus threadbare the lesser story of Sarabjeet Singh alone.

The confusion purposely created by Islamabad gave ISI breathing space to devise a face-saving counter attack on the Abu Jundal story. The attack was launched later in the evening to destroy the credibility of the unfolding Jundal story. Rehman Malik was put into play to deny any involvement and to claim that since Abu Jundal was an Indian citizen, New Delhi should be held responsible for his terrorist activities and not Pakistan. How convenient!

Indians, despite Pakistan’s treachery of 65 years had learnt ‘no lessons’. On Jundal, many commentators within the government and outside said that they now have solid evidence in Pakistan Army’s direct involvement in Mumbai 26/11 operations. However they conveniently forgot that we already had adequate evidence by capturing live Azmal Kasab etc. The government despite the clear evidence that convicted Kasab, did nothing to contain Pakistan’s inimical activities. Subsequent singing by Abu Jundal was merely a bonus in terms of additional evidence. I am confident the government will again do nothing except indulge in rhetorical statements.

The key question is can Pakistan be trusted ever?

The victory in 1971 that Indira Gandhi and the military gave to India was lost at the Simla Summit. Bhutto was allowed to escape without finalising LoC as the International Border. He promised the then Indian Prime Minister that due to pressures from the domestic constituency, he be allowed to ratify acceptance of LoC as the final border later. Rest is history.

Prime Minister Vajpayee’s ill-advised bus trip to Lahore resulted in Kargil, whereby the Indian Army was made to sacrifice lives of 500 young men by climbing steep heights to eject the enemy, instead of adhering to the military principal of warfare by sitting on the rear of the enemy in Skardu and cutting of the supply line.

There are innumerable incidents of treachery by Pakistani military dictators that amply display that the agenda is to destabilise the Union of India by indulging in every dirty trick in the arsenal of ISI. The capture of Abu Jundal merely reinforces the fact that sixty-five years later Pakistan Army’s agenda against India remains intact.

Once again, it should be clear to the Prime Minister and Home Minister of India that Pakistan will never accept the concrete evidence offered by India to move against the criminals of 26/11 based in Pakistan as they are considered “strategic assets” and nourished by ISI.

In fact, it is bizarre that New Delhi continues to present reams of evidence on Mumbai 26/11 to perpetrators and expects them to accept their guilt. This is height of naivety! Pakistan will never change. Therefore, India must change. Sixty-five years later, it is time for India to finally rise from its pacifist policies of appeasement to strategic assertion by refusing to tolerate any threat posed by Pakistan to the Union of India. To call Islamabad’s bluff, New Delhi will have to execute an aggressive multi-dimensional strategy that will raise exorbitantly the cost of waging war on India.

A report says that the name of Anantnag town in Kashmir will soon be changed to Islamabad; the name of historic Shankaracharya Hill has been changed to Takht-i-Sulaiman. The name of historic Hari Hill has been changed to Koh-i-Maran. Names of 700 villages have already been changed. Above all, the name of Srinagar Airport is being changed to Shaikh-ul-Alam Airport. If the reports are true, then it is a serious matter. India has made itself the laughing stock by deluding itself.

We are still running the country with the laws given to us by the British in 1863 that is the Indian Penal Code, Indian Evidence Act and Criminal Procedure Code, which have outlived their utility, as crimes like honour killing, or terrorism did not exist at that time. Even court cases take decades to decide.

There have been still some CBI cases pending for over 20 years. How can one expect a witness hiding behind a tree, when an encounter takes place between the security forces and the terrorists trying to cross the border into India.

Though the whole world knows the crime and criminals yet the murderers and terrorists get away because of the obsolete laws and government’s total neglect of the judicial and criminal justice system. It is for this reason that nobody obeys even the traffic laws.

Media has rightly highlighted the role of an Indian Muslim, Jundal, who was extradited from Saudi Arabia for his role in the 26/11 attack on Mumbai. In fact, such people bring a bad name to the whole Muslim community, of which 99.9 per cent are patriotic Indians. But under the present Indian laws nothing will come out of the case as no confession made before a Police Officer is admissible in a court of law unless there is independent corroborating evidence.

Choose your friends carefully. Your enemies will choose you.
