Tomatoes are by far the healthiest of all fruits and vegetables, with the power to ward off some of the worst-known diseases to man. Tomatoes are a good source of lycopene—one of the most powerful natural antioxidant. Lycopene is not naturally produced within our body and, therefore, requires a source in order to produce this powerful antioxidant. There are many fruits and vegetables that contain lycopene but tomatoes have the highest concentration of lycopene.

The health benefits of tomato that make it one of the most nutritious fruit.

■          A daily dose of a glass full of tomato juice keeps a person healthy.

■          Tomato juice is one of the healthiest drinks today. Tomato juice can reduce the tendency of blood clotting.

■          They can also be baked with cheese. Tomatoes are good with chicken and in salads. Most use it as an alternative of gravy, which is good with eggs and breads.

■          Other nutrients for tomatoes include the high content in vitamin C or ascorbic acid, which is good for the immune system. It prevents the cause of cold and flu, which is good, especially, when the weather is unpredictable.

■          It has abundant vitamin K that helps the bones become strong and helps in the absorption of minerals to further strengthen it. Vitamin K even helps prevent hemorrhages.

■          It is comfort food for those who are in stress. This is also used by many fast food chains to claim that their burgers are healthy.
