1988 road rage case: Navjot Singh Sidhu sent to Patiala Jail after his surrender
Former Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu was sent to Patiala Jail yesterday evening. Prior to this, Sidhu surrendered before the Patiala Court and after a medical check-up at Mata Kaushalaya Hospital, he was taken to jail.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court refused to entertain Sidhu’s plea seeking more time to surrender, a day after he was sentenced to one-year rigorous imprisonment in 1988 road rage case. Sidhu had approached the apex court through his lawyer seeking a few weeks time to surrender.
