Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said, India wants to become a powerful nation for the welfare of the whole world and not to intimidate people living in other countries.
Mr Singh said this while launching the Rath Yatra from the India Gate lawns that would collect soil and water for a week-long Vedic yagya in March in Delhi.
Describing it as an extraordinary Rath Yatra, Mr Singh, also said that this event was not to gain any power, but for nation-building and a fully-secured and prosperous India.
He said, the government’s aim was to make India a prosperous and a powerful country for global welfare.
Mr Singh said, the people of the country should remain united and fight against divisive forces.
The Home Minister said, India has a rich cultural heritage and everyone should take a pledge to maintain the country’s culture.
He also said, the government is working towards making the country a new India by 2022.
