Cold wave conditions continue unabated in northern and eastern India; Dense fog affects flight and rail services in Delhi

Cold wave and foggy conditions continue unabated in northern and eastern India. The national capital experienced a thick blanket of fog which disrupted air, road and rail services. More than 60 domestic and international flights were delayed or diverted. As many as 13 trains were rescheduled while 13 others coming to Delhi were canceled.

49 trains have been delayed. IMD scientist, Charan Singh said, similar weather condition will prevail in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar during next 48 hours. In Uttar Pradesh, biting cold and fog have thrown normal life out of gear. Our correspondent reports dense fog in many parts of the state has hampered rail, road and air traffic in the state.
