PM Modi holds bilateral talks with his counterparts of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Vietnam, Brunei in Manila

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met leaders of five key nations today in Manila and held talks on wideranging issues. The meetings were held on the sidelines of the ongoing ASEAN-India Summit in the Philippines capital. On Monday, he met the US President Donald Trump and the Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his engagements for the day with a crucial bilateral meet with his Australian counterpart Malcolm Turnbull. Both leaders discussed ways to give Filip to bilateral cooperation covering a broad range of areas. Prime Minister Modi then met Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. The External Affairs Ministry has said , they discussed strengthening of comprehensive strategic partnership.

In the Prime Minister ‘s meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the focus was on intensifying their special strategic and global partnership This was followed by Mr. Modi’s bilateral meeting with the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, Hassanal Bolkiah. According to MEA, it was a fruitful discussion focussing on forging stronger ties in areas like trade and investment, renewable energy, culture and people-to-people contacts.
