Bihar govt releases Rs 1935 crore to undertake relief operations in flood affected areas

Bihar government has released Rs 1935 crore to undertake relief operations in flood affected areas of the state.

The decision was taken in the state cabinet which was chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

This amount would be utilised for payment of ex- gratia to the families of the deceased, besides monetary assistance of six thousand rupees per affected family, operation of relief camps and arrangement of food and fodder for people and cattle.

Meanwhile 45 trains will be canceled today and tomorrow due to floods. CPRO of East Central Railway Rajesh Kumar told that some trains have been diverted.

Train services between the north east and rest of the country via Bihar are likely to normalise from September 3. The rail link with northeast has remained snapped since August 13 due to floods in Bihar.
