In Assam, 22 persons have lost their lives in flood so far. The Brahmaputra river is constantly flowing above the danger level at five places including Guwahati. Nearly 4 lakh people are affected in current surge of water at 16 districts.
Three persons have died due to floods at various places during last 24 hours. District administrations organized medical camps and also providing relief materials.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal held a review meeting in Guwahati yesterday regarding the relief and rescue measures being taken. The Chief Minister instructed all the concerned departments to provide necessary help to the affected people.
The Chief Minister also urged all MLAs and MPs to monitor rescue and relief measures at affected areas.
