Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), state-owned power plant equipment manufacturer, reported standalone net profit of Rs.359.58 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016, registering growth of 59.52 per cent yoy. However, the company had reported net loss of Rs. 1,101.99 crore in the preceding quarter. The company’s standalone revenue stood at Rs. 10,004.77 crore, down 21.5 per cent yoy but up 87.86 per cent qoq.
Its standalone core operating profit of Rs. 363.81 crore, declined by 78.37 per cent yoy. However, the company had reported standalone core operating loss of Rs. 1,638.74 crore in the preceding quarter. Operating profit margin for the current quarter at 3.64 per cent, contracted by 956 bps yoy. However, the company had reported an operating loss in the preceding quarter.
