National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), which is setting up 4000 MW (4 x 1000MW) thermal power plant based on supercritical technology near Pudimadaka village in the de-notified area of SEZ developed by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) . Stating that locals would be suitably deployed in various activities in the plant, the management said they were getting the marine ecology study done by IIT-Chennai. The company issued a detailed statement after the AP Pollution Control Board announced that it would hold environmental public hearing on the project on August 12. NTPC has completed initial site studies. The feasibility report has been approved by the board of NTPC and various other studies related to the project are at different stages. The company is taking required mitigation measures as and when required.
