State-run power gear maker BHEL has bagged a Euro 16.96 million contract for a thermal power project in Turkey. “The company has bagged a contract for rehabilitation of 3 units of Electrostatic Precipitators for the 430 MW Tuncbilek Thermal Power Project in Turkey on EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) basis,” BHEL said in a statement. The order has been placed on BHEL by Electricity Generation Company which is the largest electric power company in Turkey. It is owned by the Turkish government and it generates and supplies electricity throughout the country. For this project, the Electrostatic Precipitators will be manufactured and supplied by BHEL’s Ranipet unit, motors and other auxiliaries by its Bhopal facility and controls by the company’s Bangalore unit, the statement added.
